NEW YORK - The U.S. Navy's 29th annual Fleet Week celebration kicks off in the city Wednesday with the traditional Parade of Ships.

Five Navy vessels, four Naval Academy yard patrol boats, two U.S. Coast Guard cutters, and one ship from the Royal Canadian Navy will make their way up the Hudson River.

Roughly 3,700 service men and women are taking part in the Fleet Week festivities.

A number of events and activities are planned through Memorial Day Weekend including ship tours, military band performances, and live naval demonstrations.
