NEW YORK - The New York City Police Department is investigating after a woman was struck and killed by a privately owned garbage truck Tuesday night in Greenwich Village.
The 60-year-old victim was hit by the truck as she crossed the street near Sixth Avenue and 8th Street around 11:30 p.m.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police have not yet made any arrests.
