NEW YORK - The New York Liberty season gets underway this weekend.
Coming off an Eastern Conference Championship last year, the basketball team will take on the San Antonio Stars at Madison Square Garden Saturday.
Talent returning to the floor this season includes Tina Charles, who won gold with Team USA at the Rio Olympics.
"Tina Charles is the best to suit it up. We're happy to make sure we have her as part of our team, the New York Liberty. But we do have some new additions, we have Brita Hartley and Kia Vaughn who are part of our squad. You're gonna enjoy these ladies and how well they play," said former New York Liberty player Teresa Weatherspoon.
With some pointers from the Liberty, our very own Roger Clark sank a behind-the-back halfcourt shot while checking out the Garden floor Friday morning.
Tip off for the season opener Saturday is 3 p.m.
