Major track work is coming to the N and W lines in Astoria this summer.

And that will mean service disruptions for at least eight weekends.

Crews will be upgrading tracks and switches, and adding noise-reducing equipment to the tracks between Queensboro Plaza and Ditmars Boulevard.

Service will be suspended along that stretch on weekends between May 20 and September 11.

Shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

The MTA says the replacement of switches and track panels will reduce train noise, especially near PS 85, where parents and students had been complaining for years.
