The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society announced on Wednesday afternoon that tissue damage is consistent with blunt force trauma which was most likely the result of a vessel strike.
The trauma and brusing covered about two-thirds of the whales body. There were also extensive kidney parasites associated with renal damage. The whale's stomach was filled with recently ingested menhaden.
