History comes alive for people in Kew Gardens.

The Friends of Maple Grove Cemetery celebrated their Victorian Novelties Event Saturday.

Attendees got to check out fine china from the mid to late 18 hundreds -- and learn about one of the era's most famous toys -- the yo yo.

The Museum of Interesting Things also brought different medical instruments and music players from the Victorian era.

Organizers say its important to recognize how people lived before modern times.

"We have to remember their story. They have so much to tell us. There are so many things, so many, uh, triumphs and so many things that, uh, we have to learn from them and we should never forget," said Carl Ballenas, President of Friends of Maple Grove Cemetery.

The Friends of Maple Grove Cemetery will hold their spring concert on May 13th at 7 P M.
