NEW YORK - Mayor Bill de Blasio's executive budget will be revealed Wednesday and is being seen as a high stakes one considering he is running for re-election.

The mayor has been rolling out several proposals over the last couple weeks.

Most recently included expanding his universal pre-k program to 3-year-olds through out the city.

Another initiative is his plan to shut down Rikers Island over the next ten years.

The capital budget will include more than $1 billion to study where jail fatalities can be placed.

But, the committee chairwoman of the City Council finance board says they have other expectations in mind.

"This council thought it very clear that we should include things you know making this as the year of the senior, including more support for seniors. We would like to see some more of that, additional savings so that in lieu what can happen in the city, we have potential savings down the road," said City Councilmember Julissa Ferreras-Copeland.

NY1 will have live coverage of the announcement.
