A North Carolina teen is being extradited to New York after being arrested in connection with the attempted shooting of a 12-year-old in Manhattan earlier this month.

Authorities say Joshua Wilson, 17, was taken into custody outside Raleigh on April 17.

The shooting occurred back on April 11 on Columbus Avenue between 105th and 106th streets.

Police say the boy was inside a barbershop at the time.

They say the gunman opened fire after the two exchanged words.

The shot broke the store's glass window, but did not hit anybody.
