NEW YORK - Parts of Manhattan are going car-free this weekend in honor of Earth Day.

On Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Broadway will be closed to all vehicle traffic between Times Square and Union Square.

Cars and trucks will also be banned from St. Nicholas Avenue in Washington Heights between 181st Street and 190th Street.

This is the city's second Car Free Day, which encourages New Yorkers to walk or bike around the five boroughs.

A number of free events will take place along the closed streets including musical performances and art workshops.

There will also be special organized Weekend Walks held in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.
