Port Authority officials say its officers do not have to worry about getting wrapped up in their own United Airlines incident.

The Port Authority police Superintendent issued a memo to officers Thursday about forcibly removing passengers from planes.

It says officers will not help take flyers off of overbooked flights, even if the airline requests help.

There's a previously unseen video clip circulating now showing the moments before Dr. David Dao was dragged off a plane on Sunday in Chicago.

The airline described him as "beligerent." But in the video he's matter of factly saying "I'm a physician, I have to work tomorrow."

The violent police removal of Dao followed.

His attorney and daughter say Dao will likely sue the airline and the city of Chicago.

At JFK, travelers who spoke with NY1 seemed to agree the Port Authority should not get themselves involved in similar incidents should they arise.

“I think it’s the right decision. Again, I think the airline should be totally responsible for that situation and it is an atrocity to treat someone in that nature," said one air traveler.

"Oh, I think it’s entirely the airline’s responsibility, and I think they’re going to wind up paying through the nose for this one," noted another.

United's CEO has made several apologies to Dao and the passengers on that flight.

Several airport officers involved have been placed on leave.
