NEW YORK - Motorhead heaven returns to Manhattan this weekend with the New York International Auto Show.

Nearly a thousand brand new car and truck models will be on display at the Javits Center.

While it can be fun to check out fantasy rides unaffordable to the average joe, organizers say the Auto Show has a lot to offer the practical car-buyer as well.

"It really is a show that people actually use and spend an average of about 4 hours looking at each one the models. Last year our numbers showed that 68% of the people who came to the New York Auto Show were actually in the market to buy a car in the next 12 months."

The Auto Show opens to the public on Friday, and runs through April 23.
