Spring break is a great time to brush up on your basketball skills.

All this week, the Big and Little Skills Academy is holding free clinics, tournaments, and other activities at Pier 2 in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Any high schooler with hoop dreams can play, and get tips from professional instructors.

Coaches with the program it's about more than just basketball.

"Making sure the inner city kids understand the intrinsic values that go along with being a professional athlete. Like building self-esteem, sportsmanship, accountability. Just different things that go by the wayside in the inner city, so that's what we focus on at the Big and Little Skills Academy," said BALSA Founder Jamael Lynch.

"I had no idea there was this much to learn. This program taught me a lot about basketball that I never thought I would learn anywhere else," said one participant.

"I learned more dribbles and how to work on my handles a lot. I thought I knew everything, but apparently I don't," said another participant.
