NEW YORK - A Manhattan woman has been charged with assault in an attack on a 71-year-old woman inside an elevator at a Second Avenue Subway station earlier this week.

Police arrested 24-year-old Breonna Turk Wednesday after putting out a surveillance photo.

The attack happened Monday afternoon at the 86th Street stop.

Investigators say Turk tried to push her way onto the elevator with her young son as people were getting off.

When the older woman suggested Turk teach her child to wait for people to leave the elevator, police say Turk punched and slapped the victim and hit her with her own cane.
