A departmental trial for the officer who fatally shot an unarmed Bronx teenager has come to a close, and Police Commissioner James O'Neill is now awaiting a judge's recommendation before he decides whether to fire him.

Richard Haste was one of several officers who chased Ramarley Graham into his Wakefield home in February 2012, believing he was part of a drug deal.

Haste shot and killed the teen, and said it was because he thought he had a gun.

No weapon was ever recovered.

A Bronx grand jury indicted Haste on manslaughter charges, but they were later dropped. A second grand jury declined to bring charges.

The police commissioner says he hopes to receive the judge's recommendation within the next couple of weeks.
