NEW YORK - Police are looking for three people wanted for beating and robbing a guest at a Manhattan hotel.

It happened around 12 a.m. Tuesday at Hotel 309 on West 14th Street in Chelsea.

Investigators say a man got a call from an acquaintance asking if he could stop by his room.

When the acquaintance showed up, the victim opened the door and that's when police say two unknown men forced their way in.

Investigators say one of the men beat the victim in the head with a gun, while the other choked him with a hair dryer cord, forcing him to give up the code to his safe.

The men then took off with electronics, $12,000 in cash and $17,000 worth of jewelry.
