Celebrities are just like "ordinary people;" their stuff gets stolen, too.

Authorities tell NY1 that singer John Legend's carry-on bag was stolen Thursday, but a suspect had been charged with the crime by Friday.

According to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, Legend had just flown into JFK Airport from France when his bag was taken.

Officials said the singer/songwriter's Louis Vuitton carry-on, worth $3,000, was left unattended on a luggage cart when Agustin Hilario of Corona allegedly picked it up and walked off.

Port Authority police used security video to identify the 63-year-old. He is now facing up to seven years in prison on several charges.

His arrest was welcomed by Legend, who also had panther head Cartier cufflinks with clear and green stones valued at $25,000 inside the bag.

Legend also took to Twitter to "thank" airport security:

According to a press release from the Queens district attorney's office, "The defendant allegedly stated, 'I know I should not have taken it. I made a mistake.' He is alleged to have also said that he’d planned to take the bag to the airport’s lost and found."
