Police are looking for a brazen thief who made off with about $10,000 worth of gold bracelets from a jewelry store in Queens.

The NYPD says the man walked into Golden City Jewelers on Jamaica Avenue near 160th Street around 2:30 p.m. last Friday.

He posed as a customer, and told a store employee he had an item on layaway.

While the worker was checking the information in the back, police say the man leaned over the counter, grabbed six bracelets from a display case, and ran off.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com
