A fallen EMT got a huge show of support Wednesday at a hearing for the man accused of killing her.

25-year-old Jose Gonzalez did not appear at the hearing.

His defense asked that he remain in Bellevue Hospital for treatment for physical and mental illness.

44-year-old Yadira Arroyo and her partner were responding to a call in Soundview last week, on Thursday night, when police say Gonzalez stole their ambulance and ran her over.

She leaves behind 5 children.

Gonzalez is being charged with murder and robbery.

His defense waived his right to appear and testify.

Members of the FDNY say they plan to show up at every hearing.

"We're all full of emotions, you know. We're angry. We're sad. Some of us are still in shock," said Lieutenant Jessica Duffy of EMS Station 26.

"Please bring this guy to justice. Our sister did not die in vain," said an FDNY EMT.

Gonzalez is due back in court April 5.

Meanwhile, Arroyo's two-day wake is scheduled to begin tomorrow. The Department funeral is Saturday.
