An old-time tradition is new again in Manhattan - the drug store soda shop.

Old-fashioned pharmacies used to do more than just fill prescriptions.

But the ice cream and soda fountains eventually fell into the dustbin of history.

In 2013, the owners of Dichter Pharmacy located on Broadway in Inwood decided to embrace the past by adding an ice cream parlor and cafe.

"We started with the ice cream, then brought in the bagels. Raleigh our cook came in and started making all sorts of stuff, and it's grown from there. We have a lot of events here. Community minded people need space here in New York, so I give them space," said

Dichter Pharmacy has been located in the Inwood neighborhood for 90 years.
