MTA Fare Hike Goes Into Effect This Weekend

NEW YORK - Fare hikes for subways, buses and rail lines go into effect this weekend.

While a single ride will still cost you $2.75, starting Sunday weekly and monthly MetroCards will cost you more.

Seven-day cards will go up a dollar, costing $32.

Monthly cards will cost $121, a $4.50 increase.

The bonus is being slashed.

Tickets for Metro-North and the Long Island Rail Road are also going up by four percent.
