Lingering snow related issues remain at city airports.

With thousands of flights cancelled during the storm, airport officials are now trying to play catch-up.

The Port Authority has asked travelers to check with their carriers before heading out. And if their flight is canceled, the Port Authority says they should stay home.

NY1 spoke with some flyers who say they'll be stuck at the airport for hours, while others were concerned about making it to the airport at all.

"We were supposed to go out this morning, but the flight was cancelled, the plane wasn't able to make it. But now we're able to get on one in the afternoon," said one traveler.

"A little anxious. Our flight isn't until 11, so we left home at 7 to make sure we get here with the construction and everything. I didn't want to miss my flight," said another.

Travelers are being advised to stay off the roads and get to the airport via mass transit.

More than 3,000 flights were cancelled at LaGuardia, JFK and Newark airports Tuesday.
