Governor Andrew Cuomo is calling a special election on May 23 to fill two empty seats in Albany.

One of them is the 30th State Senate District seat formerly held by Democrat Bill Perkins.

The seat covers several upper Manhattan neighborhoods including Harlem and Washington Heights.

Perkins gave it up after winning a special City Council election last month.

The other seat was held by former Long Island Assemblyman Joseph Saladino.

The Republican resigned to take the job of Town Supervisor in Oyster Bay.
