NEW YORK - Skipping Midtown traffic in the middle of rush hour and getting to work in under 10 minutes?

Uber wants to make that a reality.

The company says it is developing VTOL aircrafts, which stands for Vertical Take-Off and Landing, to ease automobile congestion for commuters.

Developers propose using repurposed tops of parking garages and existing helipads for their fleet.

Last year, Uber hired a NASA engineer to make this a reality and says its aircrafts would be less noisy and more environmentally friendly than helicopters.

They would also be able to go up to 200 miles per hour, getting you to work in no time.

Uber says it hopes to have VTOLs up and running within three years.
