A Brooklyn doctor is back in the city after the president's travel ban left him stuck in Sudan.
Doctor Kamal Fadlalla landed at JFK Airport on a flight from Dubai.
The second year resident at Bedford-Stuyvesant's Interfaith Medical Center was visiting his family on a break when Trump's executive order was signed.
He and his supporters say they're thrilled that he's back.
"It was really horrible, you know," Dr. Fadlalla said. "It was shocking for everybody I think but it's okay. I think everyone’s fine. Justice is justice. Law is the law. I think it’s a great country."
"It feels great to have him back this doctor has done so much for the Interfaith community, for central Brooklyn, it's really critically important that we welcome him home and that we let him know this incident does not really represent the values of New Yorkers and or Americans," said Public Advocate Letitia James.
Fadlalla says his first order of duty after his arrival was to call his mother and let her know that he is okay.
