NEW YORK - Former commander-in-chief Barack Barack Obama was greeted with cheers while visiting the Big Apple on Friday.

The former president was spotted leaving a Club Monaco clothing store in the Flatiron District.

He waved at crowds of people lined up at 21st Street and Fifth Avenue as he walked towards his black SUV.

Later, Obama was spotted having lunch at the nearby Gramercy Tavern.

There was no immediate word on what brought Obama to the city.
