A Staten Island woman is under arrest after police say she neglected her blind, epileptic son.
Investigators say Ashley Bronte left her 12-year-old son alone for several hours Tuesday at their home on Port Richmond Avenue near Orange Avenue.
When police arrived, authorities say the boy was banging his head against the window and screaming. They say he had no clothes on, was dehydrated and malnourished, and was covered in his own waste.
Bronte returned home after police had been there for about an hour.
She is charged with abandonment of a child.
The Administration for Children's Services has been notified.
Bronte was arrested for heroin possession in 2015.
