There were some scary moments Sunday night in Forest Hills as three loud manhole explosions rocked the neighborhood.

The Fire Department responded to the scene on Queens Boulevard near 68th Avenue. Residents say they heard a series of 3 bangs around 11:00pm.

Con Edison says three smoking manholes caused a power outage at a building in the area. More than 100 people lost power.

“It didn't sound like fireworks or anything like that,” said one resident. “It was loud. Loud enough so that we felt the vibrations in the building.”

Another resident described the explosions as a “white light and really loud.”

Several cars parked on the street were heavily damaged in the blasts.

No one was injured.
