Two NYPD officers have been accused of lying about an illegal search conducted during a 2014 arrest.
The Manhattan district attorney's office says 33-year old Kevin Desormeau and 33-year old Sasha Cordoba arrested a 38-year old man inside a Washington Heights apartment for illegeal possession of a gun.
The pair allegedly told their supervisor and wrote paperwork saying there was a the gun in the man's waistband and that he had threatened another person with it.
Prosecutors say evidence revealed their claims were false, and a search into the man's apartment was unlawful.
Both officers are charged with offering a false instrument for filing and misconduct.
Cordoba is also facing perjury charges.
