NEW YORK - Early morning dance parties are gaining momentum around the city.

Daybreaker organizes wake-up exercise and dance sessions, such as one held Wednesday at the Gilded Lily in Chelsea.

After an hour-long warm up Yoga session, participants can boogie to a rotating selection picked by a rotating cast of DJs.

Instead of a cocktail bar, there's granola bars, juice, and water available.

The party serves as an alternative to the gym, and a way to have fun before heading to work.

"We need to connect, we need to bring together community more and more. Belonging is what we all need as human beings, and in cities we're often lost and alone. So this is an opportunity to come here, this is a safe space for you to dance and let go," said Daybreaker Co-founder and CEO Radha Agrawal.

Daybreaker hosts regular morning dance parties in over a dozen cities around the world.
