NEW YORK - Some museums across the five boroughs are dropping out of the city's municipal ID program while others are getting on board.

Eleven cultural institutions are no longer offering free memberships to cardholders this year.

They include the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, The Guggenheim in Manhattan, The Museum of the Moving Image in Queens and the Staten Island Zoo.

New additions include the China Institute, the Park Avenue Armory and the Museum of Arts and Design.

Nearly a million municipal ID cards have been issued since the program began in 2014.

They're available to anyone over 14 years old living in the five boroughs, regardless of immigration status.
