Investigators have released new details in the case of a Brooklyn woman charged with beating her 4-year-old son to death.

The Brooklyn district attorney's office says 26-year-old Zarah Coombs confessed to using a broomstick to hit her son Zamair in the head and neck on Wednesday.

She also confessed to putting the child in a plastic bin full of water and leaving him there unattended, according to the Brooklyn DA.

Zamair later died at the hospital.

Coombs is now facing murder, manslaughter, weapons and child endangerment charges.

Her boyfriend, the child's stepfather, is being questioned by police and has not been charged.

The Administration for Children's Services has removed a 1-year-old toddler and a 1-month-old baby from their home.
