The NYPD is looking for two people as they investigate the first deadly shooting of the new year in Queens early Monday morning.
Police say a 31-year-old man was shot in the chest during an attempted robbery on 124th Street near Liberty Avenue in South Ozone Park around 3:30 a.m.
He died at the hospital.
A 24-year-old man was also shot in the back, and is recovering.
Police are now searching for the gunman and his accomplice.
