Police are investigating after a 21-year-old woman was shot in the neck while playing dominoes in a Bronx basement Friday.

It happened around 4 a.m. in the basement a building located at 840 Grand Concourse near East 158th Street.

Police say the woman was struck by a stray bullet while playing dominoes after a fight broke out outside the building.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Residents called it disturbing.

"I actually see a bullet in the door, and I'm like, 'Wow.' Like, instead of it being somebody else's family member, it could be you or your family member," said one resident. "It devastates me. It makes you think more than you have to.

"Crime, in general, is just crazy. And in an area like this, it's extremely surprising," said another.

Police say the gunman is in his 20s and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie.
