Temperatures in the city have reached the low and mid 60s today, breaking a 127-year record.

A warm jet stream pattern helped push temperatures, striking down records at Central Park, LaGuardia Airport, and JFK.

The record at Central Park had stood since 1890.

Today was the warmest January day since it was 72 degrees on Jan. 6, 2007.

Temperatures reached as high as 68 degrees at LaGuardia today.

The jet stream pattern helped provide record snow in the western United States. Parts of the Sierra Mountains in California have seen 9 feet of snow in the past three days.

The high on Monday was 23 degrees, and the city saw 5 to 8 inches of snow Saturday.

The city will cool down over the next few days, as highs this weekend will be seasonably cold and in the 30s.

In addition, 2016 brought the third-warmest temperatures on record for Central Park and JFK, according to the city office of the National Weather Service.

At LaGuardia, it was the warmest, as its average temperature in 2016 was 58.7 degrees

Since 2000, 8 of the 16 years at Central Park have ranked as the top 10 warmest years. The last time we had a year rank in the top 10 coldest was 1926.
