A woman who says she was wrongly arrested while nearly naked is now the fighting charges against her.

It was a story you saw first on NY1.

It was back in July of 2014, when Denise Stewart says several NYPD officers burst into her Brooklyn apartment and dragged her out only in her underwear.

Neighbors recorded the incident on cell phones. Police say were responding to a call that Stewart was beating her daughter.

Police say Stewart attacked them.

But Stewart and her children say police made up the story to protect themselves after wrongfully arresting the entire family.

Felony charges had been dismissed, but the Brooklyn DA's office did not drop the misdemeanor assault counts.

Opening arguments in her case were held.

Stewart and her lawyer say she is not guilty and they have filed a civil lawsuit against the city and the NYPD.
