If you were walking through Times Square Thursday, you might have thought New Year's was here a little early.
Organizers threw handfuls of confetti from the Hard Rock Cafe marquee, but it was just a dress rehearsal for Saturday night's main event.
About 3,000 pounds of confetti will be dropped to ring in the New Year.
Close to 2 million people are expected to gather for the festivities.
The Sanitation Department will begin the cleanup almost immediately afterwards.
