The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's help finding a man who attacked a bar patron in Brooklyn earlier this month.

It happened at "The Velvet Rope" on Coney Island Avenue in Brighton Beach on December 17.

Surveillance video shows the man punching another guy in the face.

Police say he also used some sort of blunt object to hit the 29-year-old victim repeatedly.

He was treated at the hospital for cuts and bruises.

The attacker is described as about 50 years old and bald with a light-colored short sleeve shirt.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
