NEW YORK - With its big debut around the corner, the Second Avenue Subway is getting it's first major run on paper.

The MTA says it has begun putting up new subway maps to reflect the new Q train extension on Manhattan's Upper East Side, with stations at 72nd, 86th, and 96th streets and a connection to the existing 63rd Street station.

The changes appear on thousands of new maps to be installed on trains and put in stations.

Pocket maps are also being printed.

Officials will take a ceremonial first ride on New Year's Eve.

The public gets a chance New Year's Day.
