Police are investigating after a tourist is stabbed in the head in Manhattan.

It happened on East 46th Street near Madison Avenue just before 2 o'clock Sunday morning.

Cops say a 23-year-old man was walking with a friend when someone called out his name.

That's when cops say the attacker stabbed him in the back of his head with a steak knife before running away.

The victim was able to remove the knife from his head.

He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The person police are looking for is in his 30s and was last seen wearing a dark skull cap with white stripes.
