A woman is dead following a high-rise fire in the Bronx on Saturday morning.
It happened on Southern Boulevard near East 180th St. just before 10 a.m.
Sources said the 52-year-old victim was found in an 11th floor apartment bedroom, where the fire is believed to have started.
She was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
NY1 spoke to one neighbor who knew the victim.
"She was a very nice lady, I knew her very well," the neighbor said. "It was really tragic, I'm really sorry for her, and I feel very bad that this happened to her."
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
