A departmental trial date is now set for an NYPD officer who fatally shot an unarmed Bronx teen nearly 5 years ago.

Councilman Andy King says Richard Haste's trial will begin between January 17 and January 20.

The officer shot 18-year-old Ramarley Graham to death in his family's Wakefield apartment in back in February 2012.

Haste and other officers chased Graham, believing he was involved in a drug deal and armed. No weapon was found.

Haste has been on modified duty since the shooting and stripped of his gun and badge.

Back in September the NYPD said it would move forward with a trial.

If found guilty, Haste could be fired from the Police Department.
