Seniors living in Queens can now get free legal help at a local politician's office.
State Sen. James Sanders is bringing lawyers into his district office at 142-01 Rockaway Boulevard to give seniors legal counsel for a variety of services like eviction prevention, elder abuse, or estate planning.
Anyone interested has to make an appointment, and the free sessions are available the first Monday of each month.
"We have to make sure that nobody picks on them," Sanders said. "We have to make sure that no corporations pick on them, no individuals pick on them, that these are our beloved elders and we will defend them to our last breath."
Adults must be at least 60 years old to utilize the legal services, and they must bring identification.
