NEW YORK - A Yankees World Series ring from 1977 has been stolen and police are asking for help in tracking it down.

The ring and a bronze cremation urn were inside a car that was stolen from West 27th Street in Chelsea last Wednesday.

The car was recovered on East 89th Street near Foster Avenue in Canarsie on Friday.

But the ring and urn were missing.

Police say a man caught on surveillance video was seen getting out of the car and walking away.

The owner of the ring and urn has not been identified.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
