The first medical marijuana dispensary in the Bronx will be open for business Monday.

The facility in Hunts Point had a ceremonial grand opening yesterday.

Located off of East Bay and Hunts Point Avenues, it's the latest dispensary to open in the city under the state’s Compassionate Care Act.

Employees give out marijuana in the form liquid and oil.

The dispensary is operated by PharmaCannis, which also runs three similar sites upstate.

"What this will do is provide an opportunity for the millions of people in New York that are suffering from some condition, but they have no alternative to help them improve their quality of life," said PharmaCannis CEO Teddy Scott.

"To know that we brought in a new company, a new type of medicine in which the community will benefit from. It's always a good thing to celebrate," said Bronx City Councilman Rafael Salamanca, Jr.

A patient or certified caregiver at the dispensary must provide three forms of identification including proof the marijuana is needed for a debilitating or life-threatening disease.
