NEW YORK - More than 20 people were arrested Tuesday morning during a minimum wage demonstration in Manhattan.

Protesters marched near Zuccoti Park in Lower Manhattan.

They were calling for higher wages and the protection of workers' rights under President-elect Donald Trump.

The rally was part of a national "Day of Disruption" organized by the Fight for 15 campaign, which aims to create a national $15 an hour minimum wage.

After protesters linked arms and sat down on Broadway blocking traffic, police arrested about 25 of them.

Organizers say similar demonstrations will take place in more than 300 cities and 20 airports across the country Tuesday.
