Christmas tree sales are ringing up across the city.

In Brooklyn, evergreens from Nova Scotia arrived at Gardel's Greene Garden in Fort Greene for the holiday season.

Trucks like these carry around 1,800 pine trees ranging between 4 and 6 feet tall.

The most popular types are Balsam and Fraser Firs.

One worker tells us children love participating in the buying process.

"Kids are the one who dictates the size and it's the kids who are really driving the purchase of the tree," the worker said. "So it's really up to the kids. The kids obviously want the biggest tree possible. Because I think in their mind, they think that the bigger the tree is the more presents they going to be able to fit under that tree."

Although some families are buying trees now, workers say Christmas Eve is one of the business nights of the season.

With four weeks left until Christmas, there is still plenty of time to snag a beautiful tree before then.
