Fewer New Yorkers came out to vote on Election Day.

New numbers from the New York Public Interest Research Group show that just about 56 percent of registered voters in the city cast ballots last week.

That's a two percent drop from 2012 and about an eight percent decrease from 2008.

The change comes despite more registered voters this year than the past two elections, according to NYPIRG.

Staten Island was the only borough to see a boost in voter turnout this year.
