The man shot by police at a housing complex in Queens Friday night has been arraigned and is being held without bail.

Investigators say a plainclothes lieutenant and an officer were patrolling a stairwell at the Baisley Park Houses in South Jamaica when they came across 38-year-old Jamel Ethridge, who was holding a handgun.

Police say the officers ordered Ethridge to put down his gun.

The cops then opened fire, striking him once in the leg.

Police say Ethridge fired his gun at least once, but they are not sure if he was aiming at the officers.

They also say this gun was recovered at the scene.

Ethridge, who has a long criminal record, is facing attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment.

He's due back in court on November 10.
