Police are looking for a man they say attacked and robbed a blind woman inside her Manhattan apartment building.
It happened around 2:30 p.m. Sunday on Fort Washington Avenue near 165th street in Washington Heights.
Police say 59-year old Evelina Calcano was walking into her building when the man punched her repeatedly and pulled a gold chain off her neck.
"I went downstairs to the lobby and I peeked to make sure that it wasn't something like really violent, that I was, should call 911, but I saw that it was like a man and a woman, like having, he was like assaulting her," said neighbor Melinda Rodriguez.
"I saw him with the chain in his hand and he said, 'No, this is my chain, there's a, I was helping her,'" Rodriguez said. "She was yelling and crying still, so at that very moment, he ran out the building."
Investigators say the chain is worth $150.
