A man is in critical condition after being shot by police in Brooklyn.

It happened just before 11 a.m. Wedneesday after police say they responded to several 911 calls about a man with a gun and knife outside a laundromat near Remsen and Ralph avenues in East Flatbush.

Investigators says 23-year-old Davonte Pressley lunged at officers with a knife in his hand after they repeatedly told him to drop it. That's when they say an officer shot Pressley three times in the torso.

A knife was recovered at the scene.

Pressley was taken to to Brookdale Hospital.

No officers were hurt.

The investigation is ongoing.
